Solomon lived before Christ and did not have a full understanding of the salvation plan of God. He only saw the futility of life and was distressed by the realization that death ends all of life's achievements. By studying Ecclesiastes, we learn that our destiny is from God, and also how to be content. We must start to comprehend that we have to escape from the daily routine of slothfulness, and that morbidity of life lies in the way we conduct our lives.
