New Teens Camp ~ 22-24 Nov 2014
New Teens Camp (NTC) 2014 was held at Adam Church from 22-24 November, with a wonderful sum of 27 students excluding group facilitators and camp commander Sister Shi Sang. Through God's grace, 2 JB sisters and 1 truth-seeker were able to participate. The camp revolves around Joseph as one who forgives and obeys God, who is truthful and faithful in his life of faith. This enhances the camp‟s main theme which is centered round Ecclesiastes 3:11 “He has made everything beautiful in its time”. The camp aims to encourage our new teens to be like Joseph, and able to see God‟s beautiful will even in the toughest times.
An array of events was planned just for the students: from indoors to outdoors, from games to prayer sessions. Sharing sessions by Preacher Chong such as "Gravity" help students understand the importance of having the right Christian mindset and the placing God as life‟s core. Small group sessions help to reinforce the idea as well. What is new and unique about NTC‟14 is the activity „Know our church sacraments‟. Students are brought to the baptismal site to witness baptism first-hand, and also foot-washing and Holy Communion sacraments that were held in the Telok Kurau church. Sacraments are truly important and this camp serves as a bridge for students to better understand the church sacraments.
The camp was able to run smoothly because of God‟s grace and abidance. May all that was done in His name was pleasing and glorifying.
All glory to God.

How I came to the True Jesus Church?
‘Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.’ (Heb 12:1).
Thanks the guidance of the Lord, there were 13 observers from the 3 churches who attended the Truthseekers’ Gathering. After hearing the testimony spoken by Preacher Peter Shee; we split into small groups and share our experiences on how we searched for the truth and ultimately came to believe in the True Jesus Church. The Fellowship ended with a prayer for Holy Spirit. It is hoped that our friends will continue to study the truth in the bible, and come to believe in the True Jesus Church. May we all receive the heavenly blessing together in the Lord.
Senior Members’ Day - 16 August 2014
[TELOK KURAU CHURCH]
Is the old man well ? - Pr Ho Jung Yu
Pr Ho Jung Yu’s cited Joseph’s story as the center of his message. Joseph was concern for the wellbeing of his father and his younger sibling. He subsequently received his father’s household to live in Egypt and cared for his aging father. Joseph’s demonstration of filial Piety exemplified the care and concern shown to parents and seizing the opportunity to fulfill a child’s duty. This is a beautiful thing that pleases God.
As Dn Chung Ling introduced the senior members who were present, each one of them was handed a souvenir by their own grandchildren or an REU students. The gesture was evidently appreciated by the elderly members. They were then treated to a fun-filled song & music presentation by the students. Dn John Chin & Uncle Walter Koh also took the stage to sing praises together with the children.
After the customary group photo-taking, the congregations gathered at the dining area for a sumptuous buffet dinner while the seniors were treated to a special dinner prepared by some of the best cooks of the Jia En Fellowship.
Honoring Senior Members - Pr Chin Aun Quek
Praise the Lord for His abundant blessings and grace that Sembawang Church held the Senior Member Day this year. Members were edified by the message from Pr Chin Aun Quek to them that Honoring our Senior Members is not just to provide their physical needs but also to respect them in all our actions in daily living. There are total of 15 Senior Members this year including 1 truth seeker this year, after RE and Youth Choir presentation, Dn Isaac Tan introduced all the Senior Members and presented them the chicken essence as the souvenir this year. The event was closed by sumptuous buffet dinner
May all the glory given to His name.
Ruth’s filial piety to Naomi her mother-in-law - Pr Simon Chin
On August 16, we gave blessings to our senior members as we honoured their longevity and endurance of faith in the Lord.
Each had a rose boutonniere pinned on them, and presented with a pack of chicken essence. The sermon by Preacher Simon Chin on “Ruth’s filial piety to Naomi her mother-in-law”, encouraged us to honour and respect our parents. After a short break, the respective Religious Education classes presented their hymn items, starting with the youngest. The students sang heartily in praise of the Lord.
The service ended with an introduction of all the Evergreen Fellowship members, and a photography session. Dinner was then lovingly served buffet style, with a special menu for our elders.

Evergreen Fellowship Outing: Gardens by the Bay
The Singapore Garden Festival August was held at the Gardens by the Bay, which displayed tropical horticulture, artistry and exquisite floral exhibitions, offering a special entry fee of SGD$4 for senior members as well as a tour in the Flower dome. Taking note of the low entry, the committee members thus made a quick decision for the group to attend the event on 21st August, Thursday.
In all, this event saw 66 registrants, including several volunteers who helped the older members who had movement difficulties.
The church chartered two buses, one each fetching members from Telok Kurau Church and Adam Road Church respectively, heading straight for Gardens by the Bay.
The group first visited the Flower Dome, where they had the Orchid Extravaganza, showcasing many species of orchids from all over the world. This was followed by a 15-minute walk to the Garden Fiesta and Floral Windows, which displayed countless creative and enchanting designs that would amaze flower lovers, and exclaim the wonder of God's creation.
The group left the Garden at 12.30pm for a sumptuous lunch together at a nearby restaurant. Taking up six tables, our brethren sat and ate, concluding the enjoyable outing at about 2.30pm.

Batu Pahat Ministry Report 2013 年巴督巴辖事工报告
Batu Pahat is a developing town in Johor, Malaysia, situated about 130km northwest of Singapore. Batu Pahat Prayer House has a total congregation of about twenty members. The members congregate regularly for services on Friday night and Saturday afternoon. The prayer house in Batu Pahat requires outside assistance especially in the area of religious education work and pulpit ministry due to a shortage of local workers.
In the area of pulpit ministry, speakers from Singapore are scheduled to speak on the 3rd and 5th Saturday of the month, whilst Pr Nahum Lim, the preacher pastoring Southern Region and the deacons and members from Johor Bahru would take turns to speak on other weeks, including Friday nights.
In the area of Religious Education Work, RE teachers from Singapore are arranged to teach on every 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 5th week of the month. On the 4th week of every month, the Batu Pahat members themselves would conduct lessons for the students who are observers. In the year 2013, there were 2 RE classes in Batu Pahat with a total enrolment of 7 students. The Intermediate youth class had an enrolment of 4 students (2 members, 2 observers) and the Observer class had an enrolment of 3 students who had been attending to church on ad-hoc basis since 2012.
All praises be given to God, four RE teachers were recruited to the Batu Pahat missionary team. They are Sis Linda Kim, Bro Xiong An, Bro Lian Wei and Sis Phoebe. With this new recruit, each teacher is scheduled to teach once every three months. The drivers to fetch these teachers are scheduled to drive twice every three months to Batu Pahat.
For 2014, Batu Pahat Religious Education in-charge is looking to commence a regular RE class for students aged 3 to 7 years old. With the consent of the parents (one of whom is a member of the church), the brethren take turns to fetch the children who are aged 3 to 7 years so that regular RE classes could be conducted for these children.
With this arrangement, Singapore RE Teachers would teach the Intermediate Youth Class and the new RE class, whilst the Batu Pahat members would teach the observers class.
Kindly that God would continue to guide the Batu Pahat ministry in 2014. Amen!
Through the wonderful arrangement of God, the SCB Training Department was able to organise a counselling course from 1 to 8 April 2014, facilitated by Bro Daniel Chu, from the United States. The evening classes during weekdays were designed for the Board of Ministers and Executive Committee members of the three churches, while the Sunday lessons were also extended to RE teachers and members involved in counselling work.
We thank the Lord that the participants have benefitted much from the course. During this short period of time, they were introduced to several counselling techniques and they learned, amongst others, the difference between biblical and secular counselling, and how to communicate with teenagers.
Intermediate Youth Camp 2014 年中级班圣经营
Thank God that I had the opportunity to attend the IY camp this year. It was a very enriching and fulfilling experience. The camp was held from the 14th to 17th of March. This year’s camp was rather different from the previous years as it was centred more on lessons. I came in expecting to learn more about the Bible and about preaching, and I was not disappointed! The whole camp was carried out very well and the transitions between each session were very smooth. The lessons we learnt were all very practical and insightful, showing us the old paths where the men of faith had travelled for us to follow suit, as it corresponds with the theme verse, Jeremiah 6:16 – “Thus says the Lord: ‘Stand in the ways and see, and ask for the old paths, where the good way is, and walk in it.’”
This camp had a variety of lessons, from fellowship to lessons to practical applications! One such practical application lessons we had was the door-to-door preaching. We were taught how to approach people and speak to them on the topic of Christianity, together with the skills needed for door-to-door preaching! Later on, we had the chance to try out these skills and to gain exposure and experience by going out to certain blocks, knocking on the doors and trying to start a conversation on the topic of Christianity. This, to me, was a really good opportunity to learn and to understand the problems faced during door-to door preaching! We would then be able to analyse the responses of people and then improve ourselves such that we would be able to carry a conversation with others or to avoid offending others!
The lessons were all very appropriate and insightful! We had a lesson where we went and take a closer look at 3 young men in the Bible, the rich young ruler, Eutychus and Timothy. The Preacher gave us a very deep and insightful message on these 3 characters and how we can learn from them. The other lesson was on decisions that impact our lives. We were given multiple scenarios to look at and to decide what we would do. This allowed us to see situations from a third person perspective and to make a rational decision based on what we can see in the Bible. This was really helpful as sometimes when we face such problems, we tend to get very emotional in the heat of the moment and sometimes it’s hard to make a decision that would please God. So this lesson really helped us to prepare for the future, if we ever had to meet such situations.
We also had fun learning the Word of God! We were split into 4 groups, each group having one Bible character, Moses, Daniel, Ezra or Jacob, and to make a skit out of the decisions the Bible character had to make, but the twist was to put it in modern context! We not only had fun thinking and acting, but also had fun watching our peers perform. This really allowed us to see the decisions each Biblical character’s decision with much more clarity. Sometimes when we read the decisions a Bible character makes, for example Moses’s encounter with the burning bush and his decisions to follow God and lead God’s people out of Egypt. Sometimes it is hard for us to visualise it. But putting it in modern context, we really see the struggle he had to go through and appreciate the event more!
We had games too! We had a D-I-Y dinner, which was a lot of fun. We were split into 4 groups again and we decided on what we were going to cook. We had a lot of fun shopping for ingredients and working together as a group to make one very delicious meal. People shouting all over for chopping boards and tissues, the whole kitchen was very crowded but the atmosphere was great! In the end, thank God, nobody complained that they were sick and the food was great!
With supper every night, I’m sure all participants had a great time eating, drinking and having fun with one another. It was a good way to relax after a long day and it really did bring us closer together as a unit. I had fun learning God’s Word and I felt very edified by the camp, I’m sure all other participants would tell you the same thing too! God bless!
Report on UK Brethren Visiting 英国教会同灵来访报导
On 28 February, a group of 40 members from Newcastle church, UK, arrived in Singapore in the afternoon. They stopped over for 3 days before embarking on a cruise that would take them past Thailand and Vietnam to Hong Kong which was their end point.
As planned, the Singapore Coordination Board arranged for a bus and some of our members to take the visiting brethren for
breakfast at 9am before going to Chinatown for a short tour. After trying out some of our local delicacies, the group arrived at Adam Road church at 2.30pm to join our members for the Sabbath afternoon service and Holy Communion. Some of our members who have studied or worked in the UK in the past were familiar with some of our UK members, especially Preacher Chin Aun Quek and his wife who had pastored the church in Newcastle for more than 10 years. Everyone was delighted to meet with familiar faces and stayed behind after service for conversation and photos. Following that, the group reluctantly left the church to continue their night tour of Singapore.
Over the next 2 days, a bus was hired to take the members to Sentosa, the Botanic Gardens, Bugis, and finally to the
cruise centre where they concluded their time in Singapore.

Religious Education (RE) Orientation Day ~ 11th January 2014 宗教教育系开学日
~ ~ Telok Kurau Church~ ~
On the 11th of Jan 2014, Telok Kurau Church held its annual Religious Education (RE) Orientation day. The program started with an introduction of the 8 classes, teachers and trainees , followed by an exhortation by Pr Ho. The sermon revolved around the question: „teach us what we shall do for the child who will be born‟ (Judges 13:8). This was the question Samson‟s father asked the Angel of the Lord when Samson‟s birth was foretold. Today we should also have a similar attitude of seeking the Lord‟s will in bringing up our children.
For the year 2014, TK has been blessed with 111 Students, 46 Teachers and 7 Trainees. This year also welcomed two newly appointed teachers who have completed their theory lessons as well as two years of practical training. They are Bro Lee Xiong An and Sis Jesslyn Ng.
After the introductions, the students and teachers headed for their respective classes for their individual class orientation programs. Icebreaker games were played and rules and expectations for each class were also laid down.
Finally the day came to a close when all the classes returned to the church hall for the first RE prayer of the year followed by a photo-taking session of each individual class. May God bless our Church in this divine service that we may bring the students before Him in the year ahead, amen.
~ ~ Adam Road Church~ ~
Praise the Lord that the Orientation for the Religious Education unit of Adam Road was smoothly carried out on the 11 January 2014.
There are a total of 7 students who graduated from the Religious Education System this year. They are Bro Jasper, Bro Chuen En, Bro Kevin Lo, Bro Huan Yin, Bro Wilson Chin, Sis Samantha, and Sis Sue Anne. Bro Jasper represented the graduating class to say a few words and they were joined by the rest of the IY class to present a few hymns.
We thank the Lord that we have a total of 40 teachers including 4 trainee teachers that were sent to be shepherds of the Lord‟s lamb this year. There are a total of 120 students from all the classes, ranging from children in the Nursery to students in the Intermediate Youth classes.
We pray that the Lord will strengthen the faith of our teachers through the Holy Spirit and that we remain faithful to the Word of God, to care and to guide the students with love and compassion of Christ.
~ ~ Sembawang Church~ ~
This event marks the new school year for our students, where a mix of excitement and apprehension could be felt. While some are excited as they are reunited with friends and brethren whom they “separated from” during the last school year, others are apprehensive of the new environment that they have progressed to. May the Lord continue to bless and guide the students, teachers and parents as we seek to build a faith that is rooted and grounded in the love of Christ.
RE teachers sent to do the important work of tending and feeding the lambs after receiving the laying of hands.

Chinese New Year Service ~ 31st January 2014
Chinese New Year Service ~ 31st January 2014
Hallelujah, thank the Lord for His grace,
31st January was the first day of Chinese New Year, and a special combined service was held in Adam Road Church at 11am with members from all three churches, along with many of our brethren from overseas who also joined in the service (from the UK, West Malaysia, Taiwan and the US). Pr Ho and his family also had their reunion in Singapore for this New Year holiday.
This New Year season saw many of our members going abroad, with a lower turnout than previous years at 275 members joining the service.
During the service, Pr Ho Jung Yu gave exhorted our members with the sermon titled "Crown the Year with God's Grace".
The festive spirit was strong amongst the members, and many of them greeted each other with "Happy New Year". Many old members who had not met for some time after the dedication of separate churches had the opportunity to reconnect, bringing joy to many.
The service was concluded at 12 noon, and many of our members remained behind to chat.
~ Crown the Year with God's Grace ~
Ps 65:11 - This is a psalm of praise. The author called upon God to hear him, to forgive his sins and grant him peace, giving Him thanks and praise. Another explanation has the author praying to God to send rain, bringing his power of creation and salvation to nourish the earth that the people may harvest grain manifold. In either case, it speaks of God's giving grace to man year after year, crowning the years with his bounty. Therefore, may God crown the new lunar year of 2014 with His grace, grant long life to His people and add blessings ceaselessly unto them.
2013 Singapore Co-Ordination Board
Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ! May the grace of God be with all in the True Jesus Church Singapore.
Praise the Lord Jesus Christ that the year 2013 had passed peacefully for our country and for the True Jesus Church. By His guidance TJC Singapore Co-ordination Board was able to carry out the planned program smoothly.
Among the work done was the hosting of the IA-EHWDM Conference in August 2013 wherein representatives from the GA of TJC Taiwan, Sabah, Indonesia, Korea and West Malaysia, and from the Co- ordination Board of Australia, Hongkong, Singapore and of Japan, and from pioneering church regions Ministry Committee of India, Vietnam & Kampuchea, Myanmar and Thailand convened in TJC Adam Road for two days.
Also a 4-year fulltime preacher theological course for two Myanmar trainees commenced on July 7th. The 1st semester of the course ended on 30th October 2013 and the 2nd semester began on 2nd January 2014.
On 8th & 9th June 2013, students and teachers from the Intermediate Class of TJC Singapore numbering 18 and 5 respectively went to Port Dickson to participate in a Fellowship Program with the IY youths of West Malaysia. On 6th and 7th July 2013, forty members of SCB Evergreen Fellowship attended the combined Senior Members Fellowship program organized by GA Malaysia also at Port Dickson. Also on August 30th and 31st the choir members of TJC/TK Adam Road participate in a combined choir fellowship program held in the same avenue at the True Jesus Church Training Centre in Port Dickson.
During the year 2013, IA sent Pr. H.H. Ko from Germany for more than two weeks to conduct the Mid-year Spiritual Meeting, the Adult Systematic Theology Bible Course on Christology and the Youth Theological Course in May and June. Also Elder Tse Fu-Min, the Chairman of IA, stayed behind for about three weeks after the EHDWM conference on 22nd and 23rd August 2013 to conduct another Adult Bible Course on Gospel of John, Spiritual Nurture Seminar for Preachers, and a one-day Training Session for church ministers and church executive committee members.
The SCB work was successfully carried out by the grace of God primarily because all the churches in Singapore worked together in unity and with love for Jesus Christ. The brethren gave their support in generous offerings to the Church Building Fund and in ceaseless prayers.
May He bless everyone in the True Jesus Church to be godly and steadfast in faith. Amen
Year End Evangelistic Service 年终布道会
From 13 Dec 2013 to 15 Dec 2013, the Year-End Evangelistic Service was held at Adam Road Church in the evening from 7.30pm to 9.00pm. Exhorting the congregation was our guest preacher from Taiwan, Elder Chiu Yi Hsiung.
We thank God there were 22 (14 first timers), 26 (18 first timers), and 27 (15 first timers) truthseekers who joined us for our evangelistic services on Friday, Saturday and Sunday respectively.
Let us continue to pray that God would nourish the seed of the word of God that has been planted in their hearts.

Visitors from China 中国同灵来访
In November 2013, a church group from Quanzhou Church, southern Fujian Province and Macau Church visited churches in West Malaysia and Singapore. This was the first time a visiting group from TJC Mainland China visited Singapore. The group included two elders, three deacons, one preacher and twelve fellow church workers.
The group came via Johor Bahru through the Woodlands Checkpoint on the night of 24th November. Upon their arrival, they had fellowship with the China brethren working in Singapore. They were accommodated in Adam Road
Church for three nights and left early on the morning of the 27th November for Hong Kong.
They visited each of the three churches during their stay in Singapore. Two of the elders spoke in Telok Kurau, gave their testimony and introduced the China Churches status and ministry. During the three day stay, the group went sightseeing and toured Singapore and also met their relatives who are residing here in Singapore.
Elder Lin Fu-Zhen's father embraced the truth in 1950s when he was a youth residing in Singapore under the guidance of Barnabas Chang. He brought the gospel to his family and country folk upon returning to his village in China. He specifically instructed his son on this occasion to visit Barnabas Chang's church in Geylang and that prompted special arrangements to be made to fulfill his wishes. Elder Lin was brought to the church in Lorong 17 Geylang and he met some of the believers briefly.
We thank the Lord that the group had a joyful time during the trip and they have expressed their gratitude in subsequent correspondence with us.
New Teens Camp (NTC) 2013
New Teens Camp (NTC) 2013, held at Adam Road Church from 2-4 November, was attended by a total of 36 participants. This number included 6 brothers and sisters from JB, Malaysia and 1 brother from Batam, Indonesia. The camp’s theme was centred round Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” The camp was aimed at getting the participants to better understand and face life’s giants, as well as to foster lasting friendships with brethren across churches.
The myriad of activities conducted throughout the camp imparted the participants not only with useful skills, but also with valuable life lessons. Sharing sessions on ‘Friendship’ and ‘Trusting God’ by Preacher Barnabas Chong allowed participants to gain insight into how God is integral when solving life’s issues and worries. Group fellowships conducted throughout the camp helped to further reinforce this message. Also, activities such as ‘I Can!’ inculcated basic life skills in the participants inclusive of sewing and ironing.
Through God’s grace, the camp was held smoothly and successfully. May all glory and praise be given unto His Holy Name.

2013 Junior Youth Bible Seminar 初级班圣经营
From 8 to 10 August 2013, 37 students from the RE Junior Youth classes of the three Singapore churches and 1 student from Malaysia attended the Bible Seminar for the Junior Youths, at the Adam road church premises.
Their lessons covered topics such as Prayers, Personal Saviour and Faith, My Role in a Church, Dating and Falling in Love, Social Interaction and The Mission of the True Church. Students were taught primarily by our local preachers, with the support of counsellors. We give praises to God’s guidance.
Adult Bible Study Course - The Gospel of John
Through the wonderful arrangement of God, the SCB Training Department was able to conduct the Adult Bible Study Course entitled “Gospel of John” with 19 sessions between 1 and 9 September 2013. The lecturer was Elder Tse Fu Ming. We thank God that many members continue to have the zeal to study the word of God. May the Lord continue to guide them so that equipped with the word of God, they will always be courageous to preserve and defend the truth.
The Passing on of the True Church 真教會的傳承
One generation passes away, and another generation comes; but the Lord abides forever (Ecc 1:4). John was the burning and shining lamp (Jn 5:35). He must increase, but I must decrease (Jn 3:30).
Held in August, the Preachers’ Spiritual Nurture Meeting lasted for 5 days. The International Assembly (IA) sent its Chairman, Elder Tse Fu Ming, to share his experiences in the ministry with the preachers, and to study the Scriptures. The theme of the meeting was “Passing on”. The Lord Jesus gave the true church two great commissions – externally, to preach the gospel and lead men back to the Lord (Mk 16:15-20), and internally, to pastor His sheep and build up the church (Jn 21:15-17).
There were many loyal servants who loved the Lord in the early days of the true church. They have built on bases (Ezra 3:3), and our mission is to continue the work on the bases. Therefore, the concept of passing on – the passing on of life, faith, truth, the gospel, the ministry, experience etc. – needs to be built up in the ministry of the church, while training of the disciples needs to be strengthened, so that the word of the Lord could grow mightily (Ac 19:20), and that the church could become a glorious church (Eph 5:27).
IA EHDWM Meeting 联总东宣会议
The 17th International Assembly Eastern Hemisphere Department of World Ministry Meeting was convened on 20-21 August 2013 at Adam Road church. By God’s grace, the meetings proceeded smoothly throughout the entire duration.
The meeting, chaired by IA Eastern Hemisphere Coordinator Elder Joshua Foong, had 21 members present and they include representatives from the General Assemblies of Taiwan, Sabah, Malaysia, India, and Korea, and the Coordination Boards of Singapore, Australia, Hong Kong, and Japan, together with delegates from Cambodia, Myanmar, and IA Chairperson Elder Tse Fu Ming.
A fellowship session was held on the evening of 19 August where delegates interacted with SCB members and some believers after all of them had arrived in Singapore. The meeting convened on the following morning and came to a close in the evening of Wednesday, 21 August. The evening service that followed had Deacon John Lam and Deacon Sakiyoshi Kinoshito share the current situation and status of their respective churches in Hong Kong and Japan with the congregation.
On the 22 to 23 August, delegates who had yet to return home visited Sembawang Church and some attractions in Singapore.
May the Lord remember the labour of those who had assisted during the course of the meeting.
Evergreen Fellowship Report 长青团契报导
The last Evergreen fellowship for this year was held at Adam Road church on 8 September from 4pm to 6pm with a total of 55 attendees. The programme began with a prayer for Holy Spirit conducted by Preacher Barnabas Chong followed by a light-hearted game session conducted at the basement.
The activity led by Deacon Chin Fuai Yin and Deaconess Lee Siew En had participants split into 3 groups to compete against one another under a points system. Points were rewarded to the team that completed a challenge the quickest, and the challenges include flipping to particular passages in the Bible, answering the chapter to where a certain biblical narrative is found, and guessing a hymn from the melody played or from a familiar set of lyrics and singing the hymn. This engaging session was both stimulating and meaningful and thoroughly enjoyed by all who participated.
The fellowship concluded at 5.40pm with a love feast prepared by Adam Road church.
Report on Evergreen fellowship outing 长青团契出游报导
Report on Evergreen fellowship outing
16th of August was the outing day for the Evergreen fellowship. The program was visiting the River Safari and then Woodlands 11 (location of the new Sembawang church building). There were 81 participants including over 10 volunteers (those below 60). Thank God for the good weather that day. We rented 2 buses which departed one from Telok Kurau and the other from Adam Road at 8am, while the Sembawang church members took the church van to the rendezvous point at Mandai. The participants entered the River Safari at 9am.
The River Safari is a new tourist spot that has gathered in one place many exotic animals that are found in the rivers or along river banks of different places in the world. These included animals that came from the Mekong, the Ganges, the Yangtze, the Amazon river of South America, the Mississippi river, Africa’s Nile, the Congo river and the Murray river in Australia. Of special mention is the bamboo enclosure which houses 2 pandas on loan from Sichuan China called JiaJia and KaiKai. The enclosure is maintained at a temperature of between 18-22 degrees Celsius.
In the afternoon, we went to the second location which is the new Sembawang church building at Woodlands 11. Most of the participants were visiting the building for the first time. Thank God that we finally have a beautiful location we can peacefully use for service and evangelism. We partook of the sumptuous lunch prepared by the Sembawang church and had a fellowship in the main hall. For the fellowship, Pr Chin first gave a short introduction and encouragement, followed by a round of hymn singing, after which several members gave testimony on how they and they family experienced the grace of God. The program ended at 3pm.
Thank the Lord Jesus for leading this outing from start to end so that it was conducted smoothly. We also thank the volunteers for their service of love as well as the Sembawang church members for their hospitality.
Senior Members Day 敬 老 会2013
On August 17, we gave special blessings to all our senior members as we remember their years of faith in the Lord. Each had a rose boutonniere worn on them, and was presented a gift of a custom-made slippers.
The sermon by Preacher Simon Chin on “Honour the old” encouraged us to honour and respect the old as “the silver-haired is a crown of glory” (Proverbs 16:31). After a short break, the respective Religious Education (RE) classes presented their hymn items, starting with the Nursery class. The students sang heartily in praise of the Lord.
The service ended with an introduction of members above the age of seventy, and a photography session. Dinner was then lovingly served to everyone who participated in the Senior Members Day.
No of Senior members (Total Participants):
3 Brothers and 7 Sisters and 4 Observers
1. Opening Hymn & Prayer
- Sermon Speaker: Pr Chin Aun Quek
- Sermon Title: God wants man to honour the old
3. REU & Manna Choir Presentation
4. Introduction of Senior Members
5. Closing Hymn & Prayer
6. Photography Session
7. Buffet Dinner
Praise The Lord for His abundant blessings that Sembawang church could hold the Senior Members Day in the new premises this year. There were a total of 14 senior members who attended this special event, which commenced with a sermon by Pr Chin Aun Quek followed by presentations from RE classes and Manna choir. After the introduction of senior members and the photography session, all members were delighted to enjoy the sumptuous buffet dinner.
[TELOK KURAU CHURCH]
By God’s blessings, the Telok Kurau church celebrated Senior Members’ Day once again. Honouring the elderly is something we should do and is something that will please the Lord.
Our Senior Members - The RE students, together with the choir, sang and their voices filled the church hall, praising God and reminding our elders to continue being strong Christian soldiers for God. This was great encouragement not only for the senior members, but for the students and the rest of the congregation listening to it as well.
Our senior members were later ushered by the students to the dining area, where our Jia En Fellowship members had delicacies specially prepared for them.
It was a day of great joy as we see the younger generations taking care of the seniors, many of whom are pioneer workers of our church in Singapore. Everyone was filled with smiles and laughter. It is really a blessing that our senior members remained in the house of God all these many years. Like some of them said, the important thing is not who has more money than the others, but rather being healthy, being able to come to church every Sabbath, and seeing their children and grandchildren growing up in the Lord’s blessing.
Life isn’t a bed of roses, and even if it is, it is full of thorns.
Similarly, in our life of faith, we will meet many temptations and obstacles, but what is key is in overcoming it and to be able to say “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." Looking at our seniors, they have shown us it is possible to keep the faith till the end. Many non-Christians, and Christians, often think keeping the Christian faith is difficult as there are many ‘rules’ to follow. However, the fact is keeping our faith is simple: just trust and obey.
Deacon John Chin has set a good example for us as the Lord’s worker, who trusted and obeyed the Lord for so many years. What motivated him was his desire to repay God’s love, “He gave me life, a healthy body, the only gratitude I can return to Him is to serve Him.”
Indeed, God loves us so much. We should be a good soldier and fight till the end, until we return to our real home, our heavenly Jerusalem.
It was indeed a memorable and enjoyable day as we celebrated our senior members to the praise of His glory!

West Malaysia and Singapore Joint Evergreen Fellowship Activity
::: West Malaysia and Singapore Joint Evergreen Fellowship Activity :::
Thank God for His grace and wonderful arrangement, that the first West Malaysia and Singapore Joint Evergreen Fellowship Activity was organised by the West Malaysia GA, and was held on 6-7 July 2013 in Olive Garden, Port Dickson.
A total of 38 members from Singapore’s three churches attended the event. On that day, a rented 44-seater excursion bus left Telok Kurau church at 7am and picked up other participants at Adam Road church, before heading towards the Woodlands Customs Checkpoint. Because there is much traffic into West Malaysia during weekends, much time was spent clearing the customs of both countries. As we also had breakfast in Johor Bahru, it was already 2:30pm when we reached Guest Hotel, the accommodation arranged for us. From there, the ride to Olive Garden took 5 minutes. When we hastily checked in to the hotel, rushed to Port Dickson, and had a simple lunch, the program has already started for some time.
The theme of this activity is “To be able, having done all, to stand”.
The Sabbath service started at 3pm, with Pr Simon Chin delivering the theme sermon. Next, a Holy Communion was held, of which more than 240 brethren partook. After prayer and benediction, Pr Joel Chong led the offering session. A short break followed, and then it was a prayer session for the Holy Spirit. They then had dinner together. On the menu was a cosy and hearty steamboat.
7:30pm was the sharing session, in which each church/district introduced the respective fellowships and activities with the help of PowerPoint slides. Next up was hymnal fellowship. Most delegations sang in English and Mandarin, but Klang church specially sang a hymn in Hokkien. As the Sabbath program ended only at 10:30pm, the original plan of a half-an-hour walk along the beach had to be cancelled, in order for us to return to the hotel to rest for the activities on the next day.
On Sunday, we checked out of the hotel at 7:45am, and the morning prayer session started at 8am. After breakfast at 9:30am, it was the Evergreen personal sharing session. Also hosted by Pr Simon Chin, the session was entitled “Are We Still Useful?”, with Dn Jason Hsieh, Dns Lee Sew En, and Sis Lena Ho sharing their thoughts on the pulpit. A home-made buffet lunch was then served. Finally, Dn Isaiah Phan led a session on “Our Health”. He comprehensively and clearly covered all possible symptoms that the elderly can face, greatly benefiting the participants. A prayer session was held at 2:30pm to end this fellowship program. We reluctantly bid farewell to the Malaysian brethren, and safely returned to Singapore.
The two-day program was compact, and the bus trip tiring. However, we received much edification spiritually, especially since we could meet up with other brethren whom we have not met for a long time to reminisce. This is hard to come by, and it would become our precious memories. Finally, we would like to thank the West Malaysia GA and all organisers for putting in the hard work to plan and organise this event in love. We would also like to thank the volunteers who joined the trip for their meticulous service. Amen.

The afternoon prayer session was led by Pr Peter Shee. Before lunch, a photograph was taken in the church hall.
This spiritual meeting was attended by 71 people, including 4 truth-seekers. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Adam Rd church for preparing a sumptuous lunch and for their meticulous service during lunch.

The Youth Department hopes to use these topic to encourage our youths grow in these areas for their faith and the spirit of servicing in the church. |Youth Theological Training Course (2nd – 16th June 2013) 青年神学训练班|
By the grace of God, 12 youths attended the Youth Theological Training Course from 2 June to 16 June 2013, with an additional 9 working youths from 10 June 2013. Of these 21 youths, two sisters and one brother were from Malaysia. The lecturers were Pr Ko Hong Hsiung, who was sent by the International Assembly, and Pr Peter Shee. Pr Ko's lessons were on Systematic Theology focusing on the topics of Pneumatology, Ecclesiology, and Soteriology, while Pr Shee expounded on the book of Deuteronomy and explained why the Torah was the core of the Old Testament, with Deuteronomy forming the backbone of the Torah. During this course, the students also held fasting prayers, praised God through hymns and exchanged views through group discussions and assignments. Thank God that we are able to conduct this theological training course; we pray that the participants will apply what they have learned in their service to the Lord.
Adult Bible Study Course: “Systematic Theology - Soteriology”
Through the wonderful arrangement of God, the SCB Training Department was able to conduct the Adult Bible Study Course entitled “Systematic Theology - Soteriology” over 25 sessions between 3 and 16 June 2013. The lecturer was Pr Ko Hong Hsiung. We thank God that the course was well attended. Indeed, it was heartening to see members who have the zeal to pursue and strengthen their knowledge of the word of God. May the Lord continue to guide them.
The next round of Audit Bible Study will be from 1 to 9 Sept, with two Sundays (1 and 8 Sept). The topic will be on the Gospel of John, by Eld Tse Fu Ming. Please do mark these dates in your diary
Mid-Year Evangelistic Service 2013 年中布道聚会
From 14 June 2013 to 16 June 2013, the Mid-Year Evangelistic Service was held at Telok Kurau church in the evening from 7.30pm to 9.00pm. The topics for the Friday, Saturday, and Sunday services were "Come now, you who say...", "Zacchaeus, make haste and come down!" and "Going home", respectively. We thank God there were 20 (12 first timers), 18 (9 first timers), and 12 (6 first timers) truthseekers who joined us for our evangelistic services on Friday, Saturday and Sunday respectively. Let us continue to pray that God would nourish the seed of the word of God that has been planted in their hearts, and that He would send our more labourers into His harvest for the harvest is plentiful, but the labourers are few.
Full-Time Theological Students from Myanmar 缅甸全职神学生
Praise and thanks be to God that two full-time students from Myanmar will undergo theological training in Singapore. They are enrolled into a three-year programme with the Southeast Asia Theological Training Centre administered by the Training Department of Singapore Coordination Board.
Starting in July 2013, full day classes will run from Mondays through Fridays at 17D Adam Road right up till end of October. The 2nd semester is from Jan to June 2014.
Both students are brothers from the Chin ethnic group in Northwest Myanmar. Bro Mang Za Lian, 26, was baptised in May 1997 when his family was converted to the True Jesus Church. He is married, with a toddler daughter. He belongs to Taungzalat Church in Kalay.
Vanram Nun Mawia, 28, belongs to Sawbuayeshin Church, also in Kalay. He was baptised with his family in Dec 2005. He is still single.
JiaEn Steadfast Oneness fellowship
Thank God, the first JiaEn / Steadfast combined fellowship worship for the 3 churches was held on May 19 2013 at Telok Kurau church. More than 70 participants attended the fellowship worship which started at 10am and finished at 3.30pm. A fellowship lunch to allowed members to interact was served. The theme of the fellowship was “Oneness in the Lord” and the program consisted of a sermon by Pr Ho; a prayer for Holy Spirit lead by Pr Chin; a sharing session where Sis Christina and Bro Jong Sing shared about the passing of faith in their families and finally a light hearted singalong session lead by Bro Chiang Meng that reinforces on the “oneness” theme.
Highlights of the fellowship:
1. Pr Simon Chin shared his perspective as SCB chairman the rationale behind putting the JiaEn and Steadfast fellowships under the umbrella of SCB. He shared that it was important to have such a combine fellowship occasionally to allow new members from the 3 churches to get to know the bigger family and for existing members to keep the fellowship going across the 3 churches. Pr Chin also emphasized the important role members of the JiaEn/Steadfast fellowship play in the church – “The bridging” between the Youths and Evergreen member to ensure the “Passing of faith” and being the major work force in divine work.
2. Pr Ho used the teachings from I Corinthians 12 on the one body of Christ to expound on the importance of “Oneness” in the church. While we may be worshipping at different TJC churches, we are still members of the one body of Christ. As members of the one body of Christ, each one of us has a role to play. No one role is more important than the other. As member of the body of Christ each of us have talent(s) that God have given us and we ought to use it accordingly to serve the Lord and his body. As members of the one body of Christ, we all need to have care and concern for each other.
3. Brother Jong Sing and Sis Christina Chong shared “Passing of Faith” that described how their respective families came to believe in the Lord. Thank God Bro Jong Sing’s family have 6 generations of believers – Elder Titus Huang being the first believer in the family; and Sis Christina/Bro Chi Kiong’s family have 4 generations of believers – Dn Andrew Chin (ieDn John Chin’s father) being the first believer in the family.
4. In closing the fellowship, participants were divided into 3 groups each lead by a “choir master”. Each group was given 10 minutes to learn several new hymnal/songs that reinforces the “oneness” message and to present them in a unique fashion.
We thank God for His providence, grace and may we repay His love with zeal.

Intermediate Youth Camp 2013 年中级班营
Intermediate Youth Camp 2013
(16th March 2013 to 19th March 2013)
Intermediate Youth (IY) Camp 2013 lasted from the 16th to the 19th of March. It was held at Changi Aloha Chalet- Ferry Point Chalet 4, Catterick Road. The total enrolment for the camp was approximately 25; including the counselors (REU Teachers), who were involved throughout the course of the camp. The theme for the IY Camp this year was: 2 Timothy 2:22 – “Flee youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the LORD out of a pure heart.” This overarching theme was later divided into sub- themes for the respective days of the camp. These were the sub- themes for the camp: “Facing the Giant” (Why we “Flee Youthful Lusts”) - taught by Preacher Simon Chin on 17th of March, “In our Pursuit of Righteousness, Faith, Love, and Peace” (How we “Flee Youthful Lusts”) - taught by Preacher Peter Shee on the 18th of March, and lastly, “Dwell amongst those who call on the LORD out of a Pure Heart” (How we “Flee Youthful Lusts”) - taught by Sister Sizhen on the 19th of March.
IY Camp 2013 started off with a Mini- Evangelistic Service that was held on the 16th of March after the Saturday Afternoon Church Service that day, at True Jesus Church- Telok Kurau Lorong H. It was a rather heartwarming event, because some of the truth seekers seemed quite accepting of the beliefs of the church. However, healthy evangelism takes a lot of time and effort, if it is going to be made to take flight. The Mini- Evangelistic Service provided a good launching platform.
The main activities that were held on the first full day of the IY Camp at the Chalet were The Amazing Race and Counseling. The Amazing Race was headed by Brother Lee Xiong Le. It was quite an unforgettable experience and taught participants the importance of working together in the Lord to achieve a common goal, amidst all hardship and challenges. During the Counseling Session, the topic of Making Resolutions and the true, general meaning of 2 Timothy 2:22 was being discussed. The Counseling Session was intimate and highly personal, probably due to the informal setting and the small group of participants. It was edifying.
The main activities that were held on the second full day of the IY Camp at the Chalet were the Trail at East Coast Park and Movie Night. The Trail at East Coast Park lasted approximately 3 hours. It was a slightly tiring and very lengthy activity, but definitely managed cultivate stronger fellowship between the participants. Two station games were played during the course of the Trail at East Coast Park. They emphasized the importance of having integrity and showing love towards each other, both inside and outside of the safety and compounds of the church. The movie that was being screened for the Movie Night was “Forrest Gump”. The movie is not Christian- related, but manages to establish the importance of chasing after the correct goals in life, and doing your best with what GOD has blessed you with; in close relation to the beliefs of True Jesus Church.
The main activity that was held on the third and final day of the IY Camp at the Chalet was Wet Games. It was yet another opportunity for participants to realize how much they needed the help of each other to be able to keep one another sufficiently untainted, under the grace of the LORD, and not have more sheep leave the gathered and chosen flock of Christ.
On the whole, IY Camp 2013 was a very fulfilling and enriching occasion, where the significance of self- preservation, under the grace of the LORD, maintenance of the purity of the soul, and the need to acknowledge the church as one body that must not be separated, was heavily emphasized upon.
IY Camp 2013 was a very honest and simple depiction of togetherness within the spiritual family of the church.

Batu Pahat Ministry Report 巴督巴辖事工
Batu Pahat is a small township in Johor, Malaysia, about 130km northeast of Singapore. Batu Pahat Prayer House has a total congregation of about twenty (including observers). The members congregate for weekly services on Friday night as well as on Saturday afternoon. As there is shortage of workers in Batu Pahat, Batu Pahat prayer house requires assistance especially in the area of religious education work and pulpit ministry.
In the area of pulpit ministry, speakers from Singapore are scheduled to speak on the 3rd and 5th Saturday of the month, whilst the preacher pastoring Southern Region – Pr Joel Chong, the deacons and members from Johore Bahru will take turns to speak on other weeks, including Friday nights.
In the area of Religious Education Work, trained RE teachers and trainee teachers from Singapore are arranged to teach on every 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 5th week of the month, while teachers from Johor Bahru and Batu Pahat will teach on the 4th week of the month. In 2012, there is a total of 2 RE classes in Batu Pahat with a total enrollment of 9 students. The Intermediate youth class has a total enrollment of 4 students (2 members, 2 observers) and the Observer class has a total enrollment of about 5 students (all observers who started coming regularly in 2012).
We thank God for moving twenty willing members in Singapore, to take turn to make half-day trips on Saturday to support the church work in Batu Pahat prayer house. On the average, a teacher from Singapore is scheduled to teach once every three months and a driver is scheduled to drive twice every three months.
For 2013, the above mentioned arrangement with Batu Pahat prayer house will remain. Batu Pahat prayer house intends to commence a 3rd RE class for students aged 3 to 7 years old, this new class will be solely taught by our members in Batu Pahat.
We thank God that Bro Leonard and Bro Steven from Adam Road has agreed to participate in this ministry in 2013 as drivers. We will also like to recruit more teachers in the near future so as to involved younger youths in this ministry, and to lessen the burden of the existing teachers going to Batu Pahat.
Members are encouraged to pray for God's guidance in the Batu Pahat Ministry in 2013 and the growth and development of Batu Pahat Prayer House.
Batam Mission 巴淡岛宣道事工
Workers sent to Batam ministered the word during Sabbath services, taught the children and did visitations.
We continued to reach out to other denominations. The Gereja Pantekosta Pusat Surabaya, a Pentecostal church, invited us to preach during their Sunday services. Our worker preached twice during their main Sunday services. In the first, the sermon preached was about the Sabbath. In the second, on another Sunday, the sermon preached was about Baptism.
With financial assistance from the General Assembly of Indonesia, the church moved to a permanent rented place for worship. The address is “Kintamani Blok B 10, Batam, Indonesia”. In addition to Sabbath services (held at 4.00 p.m.), they held Friday evening services and other fellowships.
We also provided welfare to the church in Batam. A believer with a chronic pain in the lower back was brought to Johor for medical treatment several times and his medical expenses were paid for by our workers. We collaborated with the church in Johor Baru which accommodated him and took good care of him. His condition improved.
In December, 29 members from Adam Road and Sembawang visited the church in Batam.

Reunion Dinner on Chinese New Year’s Eve 除夕团圆饭
As it has been in past years, there is a reunion dinner on Chinese New Year’s Eve, prepared for brethren and friends who could not return home for the occasion. Every year, brethren from China make plans for the dinner. This time, the New Year’s Eve happens to be on a Sabbath, so they stayed back after service to prepare the dishes.
There were six tables full of diners, and dinner started at 6:20pm. Ten dishes were served. In addition, Bro Yan Jing Pin and his wife prepared Northeastern-Chinese dumplings, which everyone truly enjoyed.
All of us gathered after the meal. Although there were no entertainment programs this time, we know that spiritual edification should never be lacking in fellowship. A short thanksgiving service was led by Dn Jason Hsieh, who spoke a sermon entitled “Lessons for Christians in the New Year” for mutual sharing of teachings from the Bible.
Chinese New Year Special Service: A Report 华人新年特别聚会报导
The Chinese New Year Special Thanksgiving Service arranged by SCB took place at Adam Road church at 11am on 10 February. It was attended by members of the three churches. Although there were many local brethren who had gone back to their hometowns for the New Year, many overseas brethren and friends who came to Singapore to visit their relatives or spend their holidays here attended the service nonetheless. The attendance was more than 340 persons, and both the chapel and the basement were filled. The sermon was spoken by Pr Ho Jung Yu, who exhorted the congregation with the sermon entitled “Renewal of the New Year”.
After the service, everyone wished each other a happy new year. It is not very often that members of the three churches can get together. On that day, the big spiritual family had much joy from the reunion. This is very meaningful and significant. Thank and praise God.
Evergreen Fellowship Report 长青团契报导
The first Evergreen Fellowship program this year was conducted on 13 January at Telok Kurau Church from 4pm to 6pm.
Due to heavy downpour that day, attendance was slightly affected, with about 70 to 80 participants who attended the fellowship (including volunteers and observers).
The program consisted of a sermon session, prayer for the Holy Spirit and a love feast.
Pr Ho Jung Yu's topic for exhortation was based on Titus 2:2-5 and titled “Encouraging the Elderly”. A prayer session for the Holy Spirit followed.
Finally, everyone enjoyed a love feast prepared by Telok Kurau Church. All 11 tables were filled up. We were all reluctant
to part and only bade each other farewell

I really thank God for this week. I had close fellowship with the brothers and sisters who attended this camp, especially those whom I have not seen for a long time. This camp has also opened my eyes to realise the needs of the church and our role as student theological graduates to be driving forces behind evangelism and pastoral care. ~~by one graduates camp participant.
