 Introduction

In 1983, the present church building was on offer and the members agreed to bid for it - which was successful. This became the headline in a local newspaper as the building was designed by a renowned architect and was well known in the city. The interior needed to be restructured and after many delays (due to the building being a listed one) and prayers, the council finally approved the plan.

In 1985, the members had to abandon the project due to its inconvenient location and huge costs, as a result, the building was put up for sale in 1986. The building remained unsold for over a year despite numerous interested parties.

By Gods grace in July 1987, Deacon Paul Wong from the USA came to Edinburgh with his professional knowledge and presented a totally new design. This appeared to be the Will of God and the members decided to keep the building.

Planning permission was approved in 1988 and the project was completed in January 1990. The church was then dedicated on 19th June 1991.

In 1994, due to increasing member numbers and the former church building remaining vacant, it was decided that services would be held at both locations. Although the church branched into two, they have come from the same family and there is an intimate bond between them. Whenever there are special events or convocations, members of the two churches attend jointly, as one body in the Lord.
